One of the biggest icons of the late 70’s for me was Debbie Harry, the stunning punk icon as she was back then. She was cool, sexy and streetwise regularly hanging out in the funkiest places… for example Studio 54!
In 1980 she was introduced to the graffiti artist ‘Fab Five Freddie’ and the emerging Hip Hop scene in the Bronx, Harry then had the connection with Grandmaster Flash and her career took a different direction.
Not only was she hanging out with the best of the Bronx, Andy Warhol was a very close buddy, immortalising her in a number of artworks through the early 1980’s, which is where the inspiration for the latest Tee ‘Dirty Harry’ came from.
We love iconic people, films and art. So what better with Debbie Harry, holding the most famous revolver in the film world, carried by Inspector “Dirty” Harry Callahan played by none other than Clint Eastwood, the Smith & Wesson Model 29, chambered in .44 Magnum!
Debbie Harry really was the first Girl Power! Feminism eat your heart out!
